MMR Receives Dual Honors from ExxonMobil for Exceptional Performance

BATON ROUGE, LA –MMR is proud to announce its receipt of two prestigious awards from ExxonMobil highlighting a commitment to excellence in safety and construction performance at its Baton Rouge complex. MMR was honored with the Diamond Award and Safety Achievement Diamond Award at the 2023 Contractor Safety Awards Banquet, held at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center on Thursday, March 14.

“MMR is proud to continue a partnership of excellence with ExxonMobil and its facilities in Baton Rouge,” said MMR President/CEO James B. ‘Pepper’ Rutland. “ExxonMobil’s Diamond Award and Safety Achievement Diamond Award are a testament to MMR’s commitment to safety and excellence instilled in our workforce.”

The Diamond Award is awarded to the top-performing contractor at the ExxonMobil Baton Rouge Complex. MMR was recognized for providing outstanding support during the 2023 ExxonMobil Turnaround Events. In addition to the Diamond Award, MMR also received the Safety Achievement Diamond Award for its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety across all operations at ExxonMobil.

MMR remains committed to excellence in safety and project performance. In March 2024, Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) named MMR the highest-performing electrical and highest-performing trade contractor in the nation, in addition to receiving a Damond STEP Award, presented for outstanding safety practices. ABC’s STEP management system ranks MMR’s safety performance 688% higher than the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics industry average.

MMR is proud to provide services at ExxonMobil, maintaining a nested maintenance facility at its Baton Rouge complex. MMR works hand-in-hand with ExxonMobil to develop innovative industry solutions and support workforce training and hiring initiatives, garnering national recognition for its work. In 2023, ABC presented MMR with an Eagle Award for its performance on the ExxonMobil Mississippi River Feeder Installation project. MMR also partners with ExxonMobil on community outreach efforts, including volunteering, employee appreciation events, student opportunities and donations to local charities.
