MMR has discerningly invested in independent power project development for over twenty years. From our first 2,200 MW Gila River Power Plant Project to our current 515-mile SunZia Transmission Line Project, and our on-site MMR Power Solutions business, MMR is focused on meeting the requirements of the ever-changing energy markets with the most appropriate technology and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Southwestern Power Group

Southwestern Power Group (SWPG) develops utility-scale electric generation and transmission assets in the desert southwest market. SWPG has a record of successful development including Arizona’s largest natural gas combined cycle plant - the 2,200 MW Panda Gila River Generating Station.

In business since the late 1990’s, SWPG has experience in all generation technologies and relationships with all regional utilities. In addition, SWPG is a member of the WECC and WestConnect, and is active in various regional transmission planning groups.

SWPG is not a long-term owner of assets and frequently partners with IPPs on development projects.

SunZia Southwest Transmission Project

The SunZia Southwest Transmission Project consists of two bi-directional, extra-high voltage electric transmission lines and substations that will transport energy from Arizona and New Mexico to customers and markets across the Desert Southwest.
