April 26, 2016

BATON ROUGE, La. MMR recently received the prestigious Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) National Excellence in Construction Eagle Award for its superior performance on the BASF Solitaire Project/BASF Geismar Surfactants Plant Expansion in Geismar, Louisiana.

MMR was recognized at the 26th Annual ABC Awards Program at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. ABCs exclusive awards competition recognizes the industrys most innovative and high quality construction projects, safety and diversity programs across the nation.

MMR is honored to be nationally recognized for our work on the BASF Solitaire Project, said MMR Vice President of Health, Safety and Environmental John Cassagne. This project exemplifies our commitment to providing clients with exceptional service and quality, while keeping safety at the forefront of everything we do. From MMRs construction managers to foremen, I am proud of our team and the award-winning project we accomplished.

The BASF Solitaire project will increase production of the facilitys chemical line by adding product volume and installing a new automatic drumming line. MMR was tasked with installing 115 miles of electrical cables across the 26-acre complex in addition to lighting protection, wire pulls, fin fan coolers, fire protection and electrical and instrumentation work on the facilitys main power distribution building. The 18-month long project was successfully completed by a crew of approximately 110 employees working 85,000 man hours without any recordable injuries.
