MMR Hosts Electrical Safety Workshops with American Contractors Insurance Group

BATON ROUGE, LA –MMR hosted electrical safety workshops with American Contractors Insurance Group (ACIG) at MMR headquarters in Baton Rouge, La., on May 1-5, 2023. Representatives of ACIG and its member organizations gathered to learn more about electrical safety, engage in networking opportunities and collaborate on safety demonstrations.
“We express sincere gratitude to ACIG for placing their trust in us to host the Electrical Safety Workshop,” said MMR Vice President, HSE John Cassagne. “I would like to thank all who dedicated their efforts toward the flawless preparation and execution of these workshops, as well as our participants for making this week truly exceptional.”
ACIG and MMR employees attended a networking and welcome reception at Ruffino’s on Monday, May 1 and Wednesday, May 3, each followed by a two-day session in the MMR Craft Training Center. Attendees received a campus tour before participating in interactive demonstrations on power transmission and distribution, electrical equipment and hazards, Electrically Safe Working Conditions (ESWC) and energized electrical work. Additionally, MMR’s cooking team provided a seafood and chicken fry dinner to conclude each session.
In all operations, MMR remains dedicated to promoting safety education and maintaining safe practices. In 2022, MMR recorded 9.8 million work hours and currently maintains a Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) of 0.00 and an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of 0.58. MMR continues to achieve outstanding safety standards as Diamond Level in the Associated Builders and Contractor’s STEP management system, a designation that ranks MMR’s safety performance 655% higher than the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics industry average.
