MMR Honors Veteran Workforce

November 26, 2024

MMR hosted its inaugural Veterans Day Luncheon to honor and recognize those in our workforce who have served. As part of the event, MMR also raised over $14,000 that was donated to veteran organizations, One Tribe Foundation and Disabled American Veterans.

Veterans were recognized during the luncheon and were given a small gift as a token of our appreciation for their service. The event also featured a series of speakers including MMR leadership, MMR veterans, and representatives from One Tribe Foundation and Disabled American Veterans. They spoke about their service and how the transferrable skill sets learned are invaluable to their personal and professional lives today.

Following the presentation, MMR President/CEO James B. ‘Pepper’ Rutland, Senior Vice President Jonathan Bruser and Corporate Quality Director Paul Avery presented checks to One Tribe Foundation and Disabled American Veterans on behalf of MMR.

One Tribe Foundation's mission is to create a community that raises awareness and combats suicide by empowering veterans, first responders, medical frontline workers and their families through traditional and non-traditional therapies. The foundation also spearheaded The Honor Ring, which is a black band worn on the index finger as a silent salute to all veterans, first responders, medical frontline workers and their families—past and present. It is a symbol of support and a reminder that we are never alone. We fight this battle together.

Disabled American Veterans is dedicated to a single purpose: empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. They accomplish this by ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them; fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill; and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life.
