MMR’s Fabricated Pipe Celebrates Upgrades with Groundbreaking Ceremony at its Fernwood, MS Fabrication Facility

BATON ROUGE, LA – MMR is proud to announce the start of construction on the improvements and expansion of Fabricated Pipe, Inc. (FPI) and its 23-acre-fabrication facility, located in Fernwood, MS. Recently acquired by MMR Group, Inc., the planned improvements to the facility and equipment upgrades will position FPI for expanded success in offering full-service pipe fabrication services within the industrial industry.

“The enhancements to FPI’s pipe fabrication facility demonstrate MMR’s commitment to providing the best services and opportunities to the clients and communities we serve,” said MMR President/CEO James B. “Pepper” Rutland. “The 75,000 square-foot fabrication shop upgrades and state-of-the-art equipment will increase efficiency, provide enhanced precision and equip FPI to handle growing capacity.”

“This groundbreaking signifies an exciting time for FPI, and I am excited to share in this momentous occasion with our dedicated employees, statewide and local leaders, businesses and residents of Pike County and its neighboring communities,” said FPI President Dustin Polito.

Overview of Improvements:

  • New roof and exterior at all buildings, including receiving, X-ray and paint storage buildings
  • New separation partition between alloy steel and carbon steel shops
  • New bridge crane and expanded bridge crane track
  • New 4,800-square-foot Hydro test building, including 5-ton bridge crane
  • New 6,000-square-foot “open-air” covered paint shop
  • New office expansion
  • Renovated office areas, restrooms and breakroom

The completion of its upgraded facility broadens FPI’s capacity to deliver high-quality pipe fabrication and execute large projects with demanding specifications. MMR acquired Fabricated Pipe, Inc. in spring of 2023 after serving as an affiliated company of MMR and its shareholders since 2005. Fabricated Pipe has built a tradition of excellence by providing clients with safety, quality, and precision in workmanship through the production and sale of pipe fabrication services for over 25 years.
