MMR Receives Greater Baton Rouge Industry Alliance 2018 Craft Workforce Development Excellence Award

BATON ROUGE, La. – MMR was honored with a Craft Workforce Development Excellence Award presented by the Greater Baton Rouge Industry Alliance (GBRIA) at the 11th Annual Craft Workforce Development Awards Banquet.

The GBRIA awards program recognizes contractors who invest in workforce development programs that include recruitment, assessment, training, career path development and retention of employees. MMR received a 2018 Award of Excellence in the Hard Craft (Specialty Trade), Division II category. This category acknowledges contractors who demonstrate a commitment to support the development of a safe, capable and motivated craft workforce.

“MMR is committed to cultivating a craft workforce that is safety conscious and educated,” said MMR President/CEO James B. “Pepper” Rutland. “We are proud to be deemed an “Accredited Training Sponsor” and “Accredited Assessment Center” through NCCER, the benchmark for excellence in our industry.”

MMR would like to congratulate West Feliciana High School on winning the overall outstanding performance award and West Feliciana Agriscience/FFA Instructor Dr. Paul Theriot, who was recognized for being an outstanding workforce educator. In conjunction with the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Pelican Chapter, MMR sponsors high schools, which includes West Feliciana, by providing mentorship, education, training and curriculum development.
