MMR Receives First Place Safety Excellence Award from GBRIA

BATON ROUGE, LA - MMR received first place in the Specialty Trade Hard Craft Category for Division III / 10 million+ work hours from the Greater Baton Rouge Industry Alliance at the 26th Annual Safety Excellence Awards. MMR was honored to be recognized for its superior safety practices, which included 8.4 million work hours and a Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) of 0.07 in 2021.

“Employees are MMR’s most valuable asset, and we are committed to implementing strict guidelines and procedures to ensure their safety,” said MMR President/CEO James B. “Pepper” Rutland. “We also encourage our employees to exercise the right to immediately stop any activity they perceive as unsafe. At the end of the day, it is our priority to ensure that everyone returns home safe to their families,” added Rutland.

MMR was honored to be nominated by ExxonMobil, Shell Catalysts and NUCOR. In addition to receiving the Safety Excellence Award, MMR has been consistently recognized by GBRIA at its annual Craft Workforce Development Awards Program for investment in workforce development programs that include recruitment, assessment, training, career path development and retention of employees.
