MMR Ranks 7th Largest Electrical Contractor by EC&M

September 18, 2025

MMR Group, Inc. is the 7th largest electrical contractor for 2025, according to Electrical Construction & Maintenance Magazine (EC&M.), climbing 3 spots from 2024 rankings. MMR's proven track record of establishing itself as a leader in emerging markets, such as data centers and semiconductor manufacturing, contributed largely to its strong performance in 2024.

MMR is one of only three Louisiana companies to make the list, and the only ranked in the top ten. Since the EC&M Top 50 list was established in 2010, MMR has consistently ranked in the top 20 every year.

“As a company, we’re extremely proud and humbled to be recognized as a top leader in the electrical contracting industry year after year,” said MMR President and CEO James B. “Pepper” Rutland. “MMR’s unique ability to operate across multiple market sectors has allowed us to pursue a wide range of opportunities. Our adaptability and reputation for exceptional service were key drivers of our recent success.”

In total, the companies represented in EC&M’s Top 50 list reported a record $59.5 billion in revenue in 2024 (the year on which 2025 rankings are based), up nearly 15% from the prior year.

Hyperscale Data Center Campus — Southern VA

MMR successfully completed electrical and instrumentation services in 2024 on a major hyperscale data center development in Boydton, Virginia. This large-scale campus consisted of multiple high-density data halls, requiring precision installation of power distribution systems, grounding, and equipment testing. The project demanded strict adherence to schedule and coordination with multiple trades, all while navigating evolving design requirements. MMR’s ability to maintain safety, quality, and productivity throughout construction contributed to the project’s timely delivery. The experience further solidified MMR’s standing as a trusted E&I partner in the growing data center market.

Venture Global LNG — Port Sulphur, LA

MMR continues to provide electrical and instrumentation support for the Venture Global LNG facility in Plaquemines Parish. The project’s scale and evolving scope presented opportunities for MMR to lead in both technical execution and workforce mobilization. Our team has delivered complex power and control systems under demanding site conditions and in coordination with multiple phases of construction. MMR’s ability to maintain workforce continuity and execute to a high standard has made us a reliable partner on this multi-year development. This ongoing success positions MMR strongly for future opportunities in the energy and LNG sectors.

Big River Steel — Osceola, AR

In 2024, MMR completed a major scope of work at the Big River Steel expansion, helping bring to life one of the most advanced steel production facilities in the country. Our responsibilities included electrical and instrumentation support for high-voltage systems, furnace infrastructure, and automation components. The project showcased MMR’s ability to support fast-track industrial work with rigorous quality demands. Despite aggressive timelines and evolving field conditions, MMR delivered on-time with a strong safety record and high client satisfaction. This project further expanded our industrial metals portfolio and presence in the growing Arkansas market.
