MMR Named Texas/Louisiana ENR's 2013 Specialty Contractor of the Year

BATON ROUGE, La. MMR Group announced that it has been named Engineering News Record (ENR) of Texas and Louisianas 2013 Specialty Contractor. MMR garnered the position with its remarkable 132% increase in revenue from 2011 to 2012, which is the largest growth of any specialty contractor included on ENRs list.

I am honored to receive ENRs prestigious top specialty contractor award, said MMR President and CEO Pepper Rutland. As the largest open-shop electrical and instrumentation contractor in the United States, MMR remains committed to providing our clients with exceptional value and the highest level of service and quality.

MMR has served as the industry leader in instrumentation and electrical construction, maintenance and technical services for nearly 50 years. Headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, MMR continues to grow both regionally and nationally with over 20 branch offices throughout the United States as well as in Canada, Colombia, Trinidad and Venezuela.

In 2012, MMR generated approximately $712 million in revenue compared to $307 million captured in 2011. Rutland believes the companys unprecedented growth can be attributed to the economical cost of natural gas coupled with MMRs unique ability to serve diverse markets in the fields of power generation, chemical and petrochemical, oil and gas, industrial and manufacturing industries.

Rutland also believes that creating a safe work environment and adhering to safe work practices has attributed to the companys success. With nearly 7.5 million man hours worked in 2012 and an overall recordable incident rate of only 0.19%, our safety record is one of the best in the business, said Rutland.

Over the last two years, MMR has continued to expand with new offices recently built or under construction in Williston, North Dakota, and Odessa, Texas. Additionally, MMR created its ProCom Division to provide clients with pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up services.

The future continues to look bright for MMR in 2014, especially with the number of upcoming projects projected for Louisiana and across the Gulf Coast. MMR predicts that its revenue for 2013 will reach $800 million, with approximately 11.3 million man hours worked and an overall recordable incident rate of about 0.13%.
