MMR West Coast Division Employees Featured in Global Business Reports’ Arizona & Nevada Mining 2023 Special Report

March 2, 2023

BATON ROUGE– Global Business Reports featured MMR West Coast Division employees Darryl Sockwell and Michael Judd in its recent “Arizona & Nevada Mining 2023” report. In the interview, Sockwell and Judd discussed measures taken by MMR to embrace current trends and confront challenges in the mining industry.

With an increase in supply chain challenges and labor shortages, Judd noted that owners and developers must begin planning years in advance to meet industry goals. To alleviate emerging industry challenges, MMR has introduced numerous services over the past decade and plans to continue expanding its capabilities.

“With electrical and instrumentation construction at our core, clients also utilize our telecommunications and security division as well as our commissioning and startup capabilities,” said Sockwell. “More recently our Integration Center has been able to help our clients with lead times for control panels and other fabrication services.”

Sockwell also discussed MMR’s progressive approach to combat labor shortages while maintaining superior safety standards. MMR prioritizes recruitment, training and career advancement opportunities to attract and maintain its workforce. Additionally, MMR has achieved Diamond Level in the Associated Builders and Contractor’s STEP management system, a designation that ranks MMR’s safety performance 655% higher than the industry average, and all employees have the right to initiate “Stop Work Authority” for any task them deem unsafe without fear of repercussion. As a result, MMR is equipped to handle the growing need for its services as demand for precious and critical metals increases.

“We have tremendous growth opportunities for MMR, particularly in the western region where many of the larger mines are located,” said Judd. “The schedule and demand in the mining sector is aggressive, and I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon.”
