MMR Launches Proprietary Mobile Timekeeping App
January 6, 2025
On December 9, 2024, MMR deployed a proprietary Mobile Timekeeping App at the Project Columbus Site in Clarksville, Tennessee. As the newest upgrade to MMR's Construction Management Software (CMS), the app is designed to streamline and modernize the process of recording and managing employee work hours.
The CMS Mobile Timekeeping App is the result of a collaborative effort involving members of the Application Development Team (from the IT Department) and Project Controls Department, also utilizing input from representatives of MMR’s Construction Division. Like the CMS, it is a proprietary software designed completely in-house.
The Project Controls Trainers (Justin Dean and Tim Brignac) visited the site for 2½ days to conduct training to Management, Field Staff, and Field Supervision level personnel.
The Management/Field Staff Team kicked off the day with a comprehensive overview of the CMS Mobile Timekeeping system, covering Foreman Management, Foreman Assignments, and Time Entry Data Summary Reports. Field Staff/Field Supervision personnel received detailed training on navigating the CMS Mobile system, reviewing Daily Timesheets, and conducting live demonstrations. Staying after their shifts, Supervision Level Foremen received a classroom-style session with leaders providing bilingual support to ensure clear communication. Trainers provided bilingual Mobile App Manuals and video support for users to access when needed.
"The CMS Mobile Timekeeping application represents a transformative step forward in project management for our company," reflected Project Manager Hilario Coronado III. "By enabling real-time digital reporting of hours and quantities, it eliminates the inefficiencies of manual data entry and delayed analysis. This innovative tool allows for frontline supervisors and management teams to make data-driven decisions that enhance productivity and ensure project success."
By December 11, 2024, the team fully implemented CMS Mobile Timekeeping on-site. A live demonstration showcased the system's efficiency in real-world conditions. Foremen retrieved their iPads, synced their devices, and proceeded to the pre-shift huddle. Craft Personnel scanned in using the iPad’s built-in camera, significantly reducing manual sign-in time. The system’s Crew Transfer Function facilitated seamless labor distribution, and everyone enjoyed the practical benefits of the system.
The success of this effort will allow the accelerated deployment of the system company wide as the new year begins. Plans are already being made to implement the application on several major projects.
