Corpus Christi's MMR Constructors Receives National OSHA Safety Recognition

May 13, 2011

On May 11, 2011 MMR Constructors, Inc. received national OSHA recognition as a Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) Merit work site at Kiewit Offshore Services. VPP approval is OSHAs official recognition of the outstanding efforts of employers and employees who have achieved exemplary occupational safety and health. To receive this recognition, MMR maintained a consistent accident rate 90% below the national average for similar companies, presented a 755-page application to OSHA highlighting its successful safety policies and procedures, and submitted to a rigorous evaluation by a team of safety and health professionals.

Of the 7.5 million businesses in the United States, just over 2,000 have earned the right to be called a VPP site. Of the 76,000 electrical contactors in the nation, MMR is one of only 12 that can claim VPP status. Additionally, MMR is the largest open shop electrical contactor with VPP standing.

With offices worldwide, MMR is a leader in industrial instrumentation and electrical construction, maintenance, and technical services. The Corpus Christi District of MMR is the first within the company to achieve this prestigious recognition.
