BATON ROUGE, La. MMR was recently honored with an Excellence in Construction Award for its outstanding work on the Chevron Big Foot Topsides Project at the 2015 Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) Excellence in Construction Program for the Pelican Chapter in Baton Rouge, La.

MMR is proud to be recognized for our exceptional performance on the Big Foot Topsides Project said MMR Vice President of Health, Safety and Environmental John Cassagne. A project of this magnitude requires a tremendous amount of coordination, ingenuity and an unwavering commitment to safety, and I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to everyone who took part in seeing this project through.

Big Foot is the largest tension leg oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico, standing more than 40 stories above the water and expected to produce 75 thousand barrels of oil and 25 million cubic feet of natural gas per day when fully operational. MMR performed electrical and instrumentation services on the $5.1 billion development, which included installing 1.7 million feet of cable, 119 thousand feet of tubing and approximately 55 thousand field terminations. At its peak, MMR employed a crew of 630 workers who successfully completed 2.5 million work hours with a total recordable incident rate of 0.12. Work on the project began in July 2011 and was completed in March 2015.
